My Daddy
Tsion keeps getting the words prince and principal confused. Awhile back, she called her principal her prince. ;) So the other day, she tells me "every princess has a principal." I started laughing, and said, "well, who is your principal?" (I had thought she woulds say her actual principal at school)She looked over at poor ACL disabled Lance on the couch and said "Daddy".
Is there a Doctor in the house??
If you have been to a Young Life camp, or any camp for that matter, you know that there is always a camp Doctor. Well, there is not a camp Doc in Africa! As soon as the kids found out who had the medicine for headaches, they would come knocking on my door. Next it was small scrapes, for some neosporin and band-aids.....scrapes that I wouldn't even give my kids band-aids for at home. ;) When it came time to wrap ankles....I deferred my job to someone else!!
I was reminded of this yesterday, when Sami came to me about his tooth hurting. He has had some gum tooth sensitivity on his front teeth, and I said we would tell the dentist next week. He gets frustrated with me, when I say "Honey, I am sorry. There is nothing I can do." Last night he replies "There is no medicine for that??" Now I am realizing, that he thinks that there must be something you can take, for any ailment you may have!

Pretty in Pink
Tsion and I have a deal, when we go to visit Nana, she gets to have her toes painted (by someone other than me!) My Mom took her, and she picked the most flourescent pink possible...Laser Pink, yes, she wrote it down....so I could buy it. Anyway, do I want to admit when we struck this deal?? It was last year, a couple months after they had gotten home. I had a rare pedicure with a couple girlfriends, and came home in flip-flops. When she saw my toes, she fell to the ground crying.....because I went without her. I am not kidding! I am not to blame for this obsession, I have learned that it is inborn. Hence, the deal....polish in Palm Springs.

Father's Heart........from Shelly
I thought I would share my friends video........grab a tissue!!
Here is her intro.......
"The video I am posting below is something I have been working on for our orphan ministry at church. It is nothing fancy, but I am hoping it gets the point across that I talked about above. The song is by Sara Groves. My kids have heard it so many times, that they are always singing along to it. Nothing will bring tears to your eyes more then a son, who had no one, was sitting in an orphanage, to sing the words "its gonna be a alright". It brings tears to my eyes every time he sings along. We CAN make a difference. "

Time Flies...
Just when you thought we weren't coming back..... :)) I have been very unmotivated and COLD since we have been home. We had a great time with lots of friends and family, golf, swimming and water slides (nope, I do not golf!)....And actually, I watched the kids swim, and watched them on the water slides........I guess I sat in the sun and relaxed, which was wonderful!
We have returned to soccer practices, 2 baseball teams, and Tsion starting track. Lance goes in for surgery on his meniscus and ACL tomorrow. Luckily, his parents are taking him to check in at 6:15 AM...cuz although I do love him, taking the 4:30 ferry over with the kids is pushing it. ;) I am not the best nurse, so I am glad that I have Tsion to help pick up the slack and take care of Dad.....that is right up her alley!
I will post more pix from the trip later, but for now you can see some of my favorite nephews and niece HERE!
